Open Auditions for “The Full Monty”

Published: August 15th, 2012

Open auditions for named characters in this funny, gritty, moving musical are to be held at our Rehearsal Hall in CLIFTON ROAD, BIRKENHEAD on SUNDAY 23rd SEPTEMBER, COMMENCING AT 5:00PM, and MONDAY 24th, from 7:00PM.
(Directions are available on the Contact Us page.)

Six former steelworkers in Buffalo (New York) are frustrated by their unemployment, having neither money nor prospects. They see
their wives and other women going crazy over male strippers and decide to make some quick cash by becoming a team of male
strippers themselves, despite their ‘real man’ bodies. As the men prepare for their one-night-extravaganza, they work through their
anxieties and self-consciousness, by the growing strength of their camaraderie.

If you are interested, the following roles are up for audition.

(Please get in touch for the appropriate audition passages.)

JERRY -Lead Role- (in 30s, divorced, demotivated, impulsive)
DAVE (in 30s, overweight, low self-esteem)
HAROLD (former supervisor, middle-class aspirant)
“HORSE” (as his song says, a “Big Black Man”)
MALCOLM (in 20s, gauche and lonely)
ETHAN (in 20s, wishes to dance like Donald O’Connor in “Singin’ in the Rain”)

PAM (Jerry’s disenchanted ex, protective of their son)
GEORGIE (Dave’s concerned, loving wife)
VICKI (Harold’s spendthrift wife, the centre of his world)
JEANETTE (a tough, seen-it-all showbiz pianist)
ESTELLE (Jerry’s part-time, trouble-making girlfriend)
DOLORES, SUSAN, JOANNIE, JOANNE (friends of Georgie)
TEDDY (Pam’s live-in boyfriend) [Non Singing] “KENO” (professional stripper, personification of male physical perfection) [Non Singing] REG, MARTY (ex-steelworkers)
