Annie grows into Dorothy?

Published: March 29th, 2010

Regular BOST supporters may well recognise Stephanie Davies, currently taking part in BBC’s “Over the Rainbow.” This latest theatrical talent show of Andrew Lloyd-Webber’s is searching for a girl to play the lead in the revival of “The Wizard of Oz.” Made famous by Judy Garland in the 1939 MGM movie, Dorothy is a cheery, optimistic girl, full of enthusiasm and a zest for life.

Having taken part in several of our productions, Steph will probably be best remembered as a vivacious Annie Warbucks in BOST’s 2003 Empire show, “Annie.” The hallmark characteristics of Annie match the requirements for Dorothy, and Steph’s confidence and love of performance have already shone through, taking her into the final 10.

Always talented, always enthusiastic, as long as we have known her Stephanie has looked destined for a successful future in theatre and we all wish her well in her quest to be the new Dorothy.
